Mawlid Program

The Struga Cultural Center (DBA, Albanian-American Heritage Center of Texas) organized a very special program, "Mawlid", to celebrate birth of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) on Feb 28th, 2010.  Mawlid program started with a short presentation about importance of the birth of our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) and continued with the recitation of Quran by Hodja Hamidullah. Then, Mr. Bilal read the beautiful story of birth of Muhammed (pbuh) from very famous vocal composion called "Mawlid" which is read for centuries in many countries on holy days and nights, weddings, circumcisions and at ceremonies honoring the great, deaths, births, send offs of soldiers and pilgrims, etc. Program continued with the religious songs by our kids. They were wonderful in their performance. Around 50 people gathered together for Mawlid. Program was a great success.

Please visit our videos section to watch this program.
